REPORTS TO:  Band Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  The Cedar Springs High School Marching Band has an immediate opening for Head Colorguard Instructor for the 2024/2025 marching band season and possibly beyond.  Must be a current employee of EduStaff or willing to become an employee of EduStaff.  Employment will begin immediately, pending completion of Edustaff registration and all required paperwork.   

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attendance at all band functions
• Recommendations for hirings for other drumline and pit staff
• Management of drumline staff
• Assist with show design 
• Instruction of  basic and applied percussion technique
• Recruitment of new members, running clinics and auditions
• Creating a positive, while challenging and competitive environment for students to achieve excellence
• Complete all paperwork in a timely fashion

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive experience in the pageantry arts as a color guard performer
• Previous successful colorguard instruction at the high school level
• Extensive knowledge of colorguard technique, design and instruction
• Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team
• Able to have effective and positive communication with students, staff members and directors
• Responsible, professional, embodies high ethical standards and integrity

 

Pay will be $15.25 per hour.

In addition, color guard and drumline rehearsals will take place on Wednesday evenings throughout the season.
